“This painting is from the exhibition Coalesce, works were directly inspired by time spent at an artist in residency in the community of Mount Wilson. The tree ferns and other lush plants were an ongoing inspiration for this body of work. Afternoons were spent in the studio or out bushwalking, listening patiently for the sound of a lyrebird in the forest. This is the last painting of a series of ferny delights or delightfully ferny paintings.” – AS.
