Original Painting - 'Leaf Litter'

$400.00

“This painting is a finalist in the Cossack Art Awards, opening tonight! One of the richest acquisitive art awards in regional Australia that has grown to become a nationally significant art prize. This artwork is available via the Cossack Art Award website.

Leaf Litter I captures a scene I'm always drawn to, the patchwork and collage of what lies on the surface of the earth. In this instance banksias, eucalypt leaves and other foliage are layered and flecked across as ground cover in the south west corner of Australia. I've begun to think of these surfaces as landscapes in their own rite, as they appear to me as vignettes of what's already past and what's accumulating, growth to decomposition. – AS.

29.7 x 42cm / Gouache on watercolour paper. Please note that this work is sold framed and will require additional shipping fees. Pickup from Broome WA available.
